With the new article that I read about Microsoft hiring Jerry Seinfeld in its new ad campaign against apple, I decided this would be a good time to touch down on the Mac-PC war that has become more noticeable to me in the past couple years. An article written for the New York Times states that, "Microsoft Corp, weary of being cast as a stodgy oldster by Apple Inc.'s advertising, is turning for help to Jerry Seinfeld." Their campaign is going to be focused around how Mac has too many firewalls and Windows does not. Let the battle begin!
I have been a Mac user for 3 years now and have no complaints at all. However, I seem to find that the devoted PC users try to get under a Mac users skin by saying things like, "you don't even have a left click." This obviously means that they have never used a Mac before because it does have a left click. I even use a generic mouse on my laptop and everything works on it. Now I'm not here to bash PC's because I even have a platform on my Mac that allows me to switch from a PC and Mac interface whenever I want. PC is good, but I do admit that it is slower and freezes so much more then my Mac ever has. I see PC as a work computer and a Mac as a creative computer. This ad campaign shouldn't be geared towards bashing Macs, it should be towards their new touch screen programs or how they've solved the glitches in Vista. This one is up in the air though. If you have a say, leave a comment, discuss it. I want to see people's arguments between the two or about the new advertising campaign. Maybe we can find some kind of common ground where PC users actually take the time to use a Mac before they judge, and where Mac users can remember how the PC did have its up sides back before you converted to Machintoshism.
